My name is Kevin Garnon Nishimwe and I was born and raised in Rwanda. In 2015, My family and I moved to the United States. Apart from the cultural shift, adapting to the unfamiliar environment, and creating a new life, this specific chapter of my life is significant to me. For instance, my creativity, and ability to try new things were illuminated and strengthened.
In Rwanda, I enjoyed photography and I have always dreamed of owning a camera of my own. Today, I am able to touch and admire my own camera. My passion for photography continuously inspires and motivates me to step out of my comfort zone, these challenges allow me to improve my creative process. When people think about photography, they often imagine camera’s, photoshoots, and exquisite beings. However, to me, photography is deeper than just taking photos.
Photography allows me to be myself, be unique, and creative. Through photography, I  perceive the world through different lenses which is remarkable to me due to the fact that it inspires me to be spontaneous, imaginative, and original with my work. My inspiration mostly derives from the people around me, especially those I care about. As I observe my surroundings and learn about the people in my life, I fall in love with what I discover which inspires me to create and proceed with what I most enjoy doing. With that being said, enjoy my artistic self and fine art!
